Remote Data Collection Module

The Budini Remote Data Collection Module was originally designed over 15 years ago.  It is a satellite module of the Budini Tire Management System.  It provides a way for remote locations to enter and send data (tire events) electronically without the need of being connected real-time on a network or server. 

Tire transactions are entered in the Budini Remote Data Collection Module.  At desired intervals the module converts all data entered into very small encrypted text files.  The most recommended method of sending files is by attaching them to an email and sending it to the person responsible for the core system (Budini Tire Management System).  When the Budini Tire Management System imports the file, all data is analyzed for consistency before processing.  After processing, a return file is generated in the same way the original file was received, and it also contains updated vehicles, tires, inventories, codes and parameters specific to that remote location.  All inconsistencies found within the original file are not processed by the core system and they are returned along with the other updates with addition of specific error messages so the data can be easily identified, fixed and not forgotten.

The Budini Remote Data Collection Module also integrates with electronic data collection tools, such as the AUDIT Electronic Tire Inspection tools and/or the Budini Survey PDA.

R.DA.CO only has all of the basic functions necessary for a remote location to enter tire transactions.  All other features of the Budini Tire Management System are not available, making the system much lighter, easier to learn and easier to use at remote locations.

NOTE: If you already have an established server solution using an local area network, intranet or the internet files can be copied directly to network drives instead of being sent by email.  If the desire is to provide remote users with real time access to the Budini Tire Management System using Terminal Services or Citrix technology, and such technology is available in your company, you do not need this module.  But if the goal is to do batch processing, or not to have the core system deployed on a server this module can be an strong ally to your organization and tire management needs.

Software and Hardware Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 98SE or newer edition.
  • Any 1GHz processor or greater
  • 512 MB of RAM or greater
  • 100 MB of available disk space for program installation
  • Mouse
  • Color monitor with minimum 1024 x 768 resolution.
  • Color printer
NOTE: It is a good idea to always have at least 10GB of free HD space at all times.  Less than 10GB free HD space may cause Windows to have unpredictable behavior which could result in data loss and data corruption.
